TEERNI “With councilor Altamura we are working to bring the University back to the centre.” This was said by the Councilor for Economic Development Sergio Cardinali, speaking yesterday morning at the press conference to present the marketing project to raise awareness of the regenerated suburbs. A project that “promotes” in a participatory approach, both the Suburbs Plan and the QVS, the strategic valorisation framework that aims at the rebirth of the historic centre. «I believe that the projects must be placed within the fabric of the city – explained Cardinali – we must imagine the center as the pulsating brain of the city, for commerce and services». Recalling the theme of participation, at the basis of the territorial marketing strategy, Cardinali added that it is essential to break it down into two areas. «We must think that right in the center there are new intelligences, young people who need to be involved – he said – Together with councilor Viviana Altamura we are working to reposition the university in the center also to encourage the participation of young people. I also believe that the entire innovative scope of these tools (the reference is to Qvs projects and territorial marketing actions ed.) must also be combined and supported with the economic resources of the system which in the past led to the difficult situation we are in today , using the multinationals still present who must review their role in a sustainable way.” Before him, the councilor for territorial planning, Marco Iapadre, took stock of the implementation of the Suburban Plan, which includes a total investment of 16 million, 10 of which made available by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. On the sidelines of the press conference, Iapadre said that «there are all the conditions to best finalize the InterestALLA project, transversal and multidisciplinary, which intends to redevelop and regenerate many areas of the city by the end of next year». Speaking more specifically about the QSV, he said that this instrument “has already come to life with the first working round” which translated into a council resolution which underlines “the repositioning of the city at the center and the value of co-design approach”. The marketing activities, in fact, aim to involve economic operators in a reflection on the effects and repercussions of the interventions of the Suburbs Plan and the QVS. In this regard, a series of meetings are planned which will start next week and which will involve, for now, some economic activities in the centre. «The picture is clear to me – said the councilor for Commerce Stefania Renzi – I come up against the problem of reconciling liveability with the vitality of the city center on a daily basis, which is why I believe that the project should be carried out in synergy, seeking a balance between all the different instances.”
