Already this morning we tried to understand what the intentions of those ‘excluded’ from the ballot for the position of mayor of Sanremo, for which voters will go to vote on June 23rd and 24th.
The groups still have to meet to decide on the strategy to propose to their supporters but, in fact, 25% of votes are at stake that could go one way or the other. A nice ‘nest egg’ of preferences which, given the current 10% gap between Rolando and Mager, it could tip the balance one way or the other.
An event is scheduled for this very evening comparison among the three lists that supported the candidacy of Fulvio Fellegarathe ‘strongest’ after the big names Rolando and Mager, who has 20% of votes. What will PD, Generazione Sanremo and Progetto Comune do? It’s difficult to say at the moment, even if the counting with the D’Hondt method done by Democratic party which could change the minds of the Sanremo PD leaders on how to behave in the runoff.
According to the latest counts, in fact, in addition to the confirmation that Roberto Rizzo (M5S) is however out of the picture although at the beginning it seemed that he could sit on one of the seats in the Council, there is also the danger that the PD itself loses its only chance to access the assembly.
This would happen with the victory of Alessandro Mager while, with that of Rolando, the place in the Council would be guaranteed for the first of those elected in the PD quota, i.e. Marco Cassini. If the civic candidate instead wins, the seat would go to Forza Italia, or to Patrizia Badino.
According to those in the know, the decision on what to do at the ballot it should be taken as a coalition and not as individual lists. But, obviously, the rumors circulating in the city speak of members of the PD who do not want to vote and, instead, of others who could express their preference. We look forward to the meetings this evening and in the next few days, because obviously there are also other former mayoral candidates who will meet with their supporters to decide.
