Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria, the new President has taken office

Caterina Chiaravalloti took office today as the new president of the Court of Appeal Of Reggio Calabria. She was nominated by the CSM plenum with only one vote, 16 votes against the 15 that went to the other candidate, Olga Tarzia, current acting president of the Reggio Court of Appeal. The CSM vice-president, Fabio Pinelli, voted in favor of Caterina Chiaravalloti.

She entered the judiciary in 1989, Caterina Chiaravalloti, 60 years old, from Catanzaro, leaves the presidency of the Court of Latina, to which she was appointed in 2018. Previously she had been councilor of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro and, subsequently, president of the Court of Castrovillari. Caterina Chiaravalloti takes over the presidency of the Court of Appeal of Reggio Calabria Luciano Gerardiswho retired in December 2022.

“I address to the new president of the Court of Appeal, Caterina Chiaravalloti, my heartfelt wishes for good work on behalf of myself and the municipal administration that I represent. I am sure that Chiaravalloti, thanks to her consolidated and proven experience, will be able to guarantee profitable work at the service of the territory”. This is what the mayor said Giuseppe Falcomatà on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the new president of the Court of Appeal Of Reggio Calabria.

“Judicial activity – he added – it is a decisive instrument for the defense of democracy and the safeguarding of legality. I am convinced that Dr. Chiaravalloti will be able to become an essential interpreter in carrying forward the work of institutional synergy which, up to now, has distinguished our community with what, on several occasions, we have called the “State Team” and which has spent so much and he did it for the good of Reggio and the people of Reggio”.
