ABRUZZO – Bruna Di Domenico, regional director for Abruzzo of Trenitalia, the leading company of the passenger hub of the FS Group, is the new President of the Transport and Logistics Section of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico and will be supported by the Vice President Giuseppe Ranalli of Ranalli Srl.

The Section includes around sixty companies that deal with logistics in general, road haulage of goods, passenger transport by road, rail transport of people and goods, maritime agencies, customs activities. The Section has the task of also supporting the large industrial groups present in the area to better analyze the needs and requests in terms of logistics of the associated companies and to support the initiatives of the operators in the sector.

«The Section is called upon to promote and involve associated companies in projects connected to the current infrastructural equipment for the transport of goods and people available for the users of companies in the Provinces of Chieti, Pescara and Teramo, as well as the effective use of transport services transport and logistics – underlined Di Domenico – we will have to be even more of a Laboratory capable of networking the logistics companies of our three provinces, anticipating politics and offering it innovative examples of networking and business marketing. We need the active contribution and operational involvement of each member for an increasingly lively and externally oriented Section”. Vice President Ranalli added: “The subject of transport, more than ever in this period, requires participation and commitment, very often at an institutional level, in which the Section is called upon to make its contribution in terms of ideas, initiatives, experiences, case histories. It is necessary to share a Section organizational model focusing on quality and the implementation of various in-depth initiatives and contact with Best practices managers”.

The Sectional Assembly held yesterday also elected the Councillors. They are Paolo Braconi of Simi Srl, Samuele Cianciosi of Cianciosi Trasporti e Servizi Srl, Federica D’Arcangelo of Fas srl, Alfonso Di Fonzo of Polo Inoltra, Daniele Di Lallo of Bosco Srl, Fiorindo Di Lorenzo of the Romeo Snc Customs Agency, Enrico Dolfi of TUA Spa, Pietro Marino of Agenzia Marittima Vastese.

The General Director of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico Luigi Di Giosaffatte took part in the meeting, highlighting that: «For the Abruzzo economy, strongly oriented towards exports, transport and logistics represent real levers of competitiveness. Today, with a view to strengthening European connections and also given the need to increase complementarity between logistics and production, Abruzzo can act as a bridge between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, a true logistics platform in central Italy.”

Logistics and transportation in Italy are growing at faster rates than GDP, with a total value of logistics activities in 2023 of €135.4 billion, 8.2% of Italy’s GDP. Outsourced logistics represents 45.3% of this value. To ensure competitiveness, it is essential to improve infrastructure planning and the quality of the projects and works to be carried out.
Furthermore, for maritime transport, companies are calling for a renewed industrial strategy that aims above all at simplifying bureaucratic processes through digitalisation, at the targeted investment of new resources and at guaranteeing the independence of the national supply chain.
