The committees divided their criticisms into six points to the project, which they consider useless: this is why they ask, in the first instance, for yours cancellation because they are convinced that the nine minutes that the new link road would save motorists would be eliminated by the «bottleneck» made up of Valassina. The last stretch in the trenches, they add, it would get worse pollution while the elimination of the via Borgazzi junction would force those heading towards the center of Monza to get to San Fruttuoso and then turn back.

Alternatively the committees hope that the tunnel be moved towards the south and that the entire route is covered, that it is accessible not only from those coming from the motorway but also from via Marconi and that the junction of the northern ring road of via Borgazzi is maintained. They also propose to substitute the planned link road exiting from the North towards Via Edison with small roundabouts at the entrances and exits of the ring road and to eliminate the Sesto toll booth which congests San Rocco and Sant’Alessandro as it induces thousands of motorists to leave the North near the Volcano and then return to Via Marconi to avoid paying the toll: the barrier, they recall, according to what was said on the occasion of the inauguration by the then minister Roberto Maria Radice, should have remained active for only ten years.
