An event that aims to combine art and solidarity.
The artistic directors of Accademia Artea, Stefano Tanzillo, Barbara Bruni and Francesco Antonio Conti with “NAUFRAGI” intend to support, annually, through Art and Culture, the Associations present on the national and international territory that deal with Care, Hospitality and Solidarity Human.

This year’s main theme will concern “Migrants” and the “MoCI Cosenza” – APS will be supported, which for years has been committed to guaranteeing the dignity of every human being, putting the integral development of the person at the center and the overcoming of every form of discrimination.

The 1st Edition of “SHIPWRECKS” will take place on June 16th at 7pm, at the Piccolo Teatro Artea in Cosenza and will host Vincenzo Luciano, the “Fisherman” from Cutro who was the first to provide aid to the shipwrecked people in the Steccato di Cutro migrant massacre on the cursed night between 25 and 26 February 2023.

His Testimony is a cry of pain that has marked his existence and that of an entire community that struggles to overcome the memory of the desperation of those poor migrants, men, women and children who cried for help among the waves of the sea.

The young student actors of Artea’s two-year academic course will take care of the Reading based on the book “Quale Umanità?” by Vincenzo Montalcini (Director of Crotone News), who was on the front line as a journalist in the tragic days of the Cutro massacre.

The evening will end with “Alyssa del Mare”, a theatrical short already awarded at the InCorti National Festival in Rome with Chiara Conti and Andrea Puglisi. Directed by B. Bruni and A.Conti.
The short was born from the pen of Andrea Puglisi, author and actor and tells of a tragically poetic journey of a father, Rayan, and a daughter, Alyssa who embark on the little girl’s eleventh birthday to embark on a journey in search of a place new place where you can put down roots with the hope of arriving safely on the other side of the sea. The evening will be hosted by the actor Paolo Mauro.

The proceeds from the 1st edition of “NAUFRAGI” will be donated to MOCI COSENZA.
