The new mayor of Sassari, Giuseppe Masciais preparing to face the first political issue of his mandate: meeting allies and establishing the rules for the appointment of councilors and the distribution of government positions.

One of the most discussed choices concerns the Department of Productive Activities and Private Construction, which could be assigned to Giuseppe Boccia. The provincial president of Confesercenti and candidate for the Democratic Party obtained 432 votes.

For the Department of Culture, Educational Policies and Equal Opportunities, the most accredited name is that of Patrizia Mercuri. The teacher, who participated in the regional elections with the Democratic Party and in the municipal elections with the 5 Star Movement, collected 469 votes.

Stefano Ruju of Futuro Comune could be designated for the Department of Contracts and Legal Affairs. The Environment and Public Green Department could instead be entrusted to Lalla Careddu of Sassari Progressive and Solidarity.

The Department of Urban Planning and Tourist Development could go to Marco Dettori of the Greens and Left Alliance, while Giovanna Masia seems to be the most likely choice for the Department of Social Services and Housing Policies.
