PAVIA – Work will begin in mid-June to complete the city section of the VenTo, the 700 kilometer cycle path that connects Venice to Turin. The construction site will affect a 5.5 kilometer stretch that passes through Paviaof which 2.5 have already been built in the stadium area.

The works, financed with 4 million euros, will focus on horizontal and vertical signs, improving the paving and making the route safe. The modernization of the existing horizontal signs and the creation of new cycle/pedestrian walkways are also planned.

To allow the work to proceed smoothly, some sections of the Naviglio towpath will be progressively closed to traffic. The Est Ticino Villoresi Consortium, which manages the works, ensures that the closure will take place in such a way as to always guarantee the practicability of at least part of the route. The start of construction sites in the Towpath section in the Fortunati area is subject to the closure of the amusement park in the traveling shows area.

The works for the Pavia section of the VenTo, which began in February 2024, should be completed by the end of June, as per the timetable. The objective is to provide the city with a modern and safe cycle route, capable of enhancing the landscape and naturalistic heritage of the area and promoting gentle mobility.
