Since yesterday evening an intense disturbance has affected the Lombardyand in particular the territories of the provinces of Milan, Varese, Brescia, Bergamo, Lecco, How And Monza. The firefighters were busy with rescue operations for drivers in difficulty, drainage, and securing unsafe trees: over 120 interventions carried out in total. In the municipality of Flero (BS), in the locality San Zeno al Naviglioa canal of the smaller network overflowed: 2 disabled people were rescued by the firefighters and taken to a safe place.
The disruption also affected Milan and the northern part of the hinterland, causing the flooding of some underpasses with several cars stuck. In the Municipality of Cernusco sul Naviglio last night divers from the Milan area were sent to evacuate some residents from a house.
Hailstorms were reported yesterday evening throughout the Saronna area. In some areas several centimeters of hail fell, whitening streets and courtyards. Accumulations of hail have been reported in various areas of the Saronno area and in Saronno itself.
The storm that affected the province of How also hit The garlic where a private car park collapsed and a car risked falling into the lake. Due to yesterday’s heavy rainfall, like last year, landslides and flooding were reported in the area of Blevio.
