Cagliari, dies at 40 years old after a war against cancer: “The same tragic fate as her mother”

His death united in grief his relatives, friends and the many colleagues with whom he had worked for years at the Santissima Trinità in Cagliari. Ilaria Deidda passed away yesterday, she was just 40 years old: her heart stopped after a long battle with cancer. For a long time you worked in the Is Mirrionis hospital in a decidedly delicate and important sector: you were in charge of cleaning and sanitisation. “Unfortunately, she had the same fate that befell her mother,” recalls her husband Pietro Atzori, in tears. “She too had passed away, at just forty-two years old, due to cancer”. There are already dozens of messages of condolence on social media for the passing of a young worker and mother: Ilaria Deidda leaves behind two children who are little more than teenagers. She had come to work at Santissima Trinità after an experience in the commercial sector and the first signs of the bad illness had arrived at the end of 2020.

“Unfortunately, it moved from the pancreas and lungs to the head, worsening his condition since September.” The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow, Wednesday 12 June 2024, at 4.45 pm, in the San Michele cemetery.
