No holds barred emotions in the semi-final of the under 18 championship between Inter and Genoa which took place yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 11 June, at the Conero stadium in Verona.

Extremely close fight to secure the pass to the final, the two teams gave the spectators an attacking and back-and-forth match that kept everyone in suspense during the 90 minutes of regulation, which ended with a score of 3-3.
We go to extra time: the pace remains high with both teams, which will bring the result to 4-4, until in the 118th minute, a spark from the captain Stefano Arataoriginally from Orero, will give victory to the Grifone team by making them fly to the final.
Genoa thus wins 4 to 5 and reaches the Scudetto final after a match full of emotions with poles, crossbars, red cards and 9 goals. Mister Rutolo’s rossoblu will have to give up the suspended Lattari and Carbone in the final on Thursday 13 June.
Stefano Arata
Stefano Arata, 18 years old, from Orero, was born and raised in football in the Calvarese area.
A family with football in its DNA: Stefano, born in 2006, is the latest generation of a family well known in local football.
The father Emiliano “Mimmo” Arata, born in 1972, already responsible for the Calvarese youth sector, and, as a player, he played in the Entella youth team before arriving at Calvari in the junior team, playing in the first team until the end of his career. The uncle Gabrielborn in 1975, former coach of the Calvarese youth team, is a former footballer for Calvarese, Atletico Maggi and Leivese, while his aunt Maria Chiara, born in 1985, played for some years in the women’s Levante.
To complete the picture, grandfather Giovanni “Giovannino” Arata true doyen and institution of football in Fontanabuona and beyond. Former coach of Calvarese (needless to say), Carasco and Fontanabuona, between the 80s and 90s he was an observer for Giampiero Ventura in Entella Bacezza.
Stefano Arata’s debut in Zoratto’s Italy under 16 team
Raised as a footballer in the Calvarese area until his youth years, Stefano was called up by Genoa to the “Esordienti” team at the age of 10. Trained this past year by Gabriele Gervasi, Stefano is in his sixth season with the rossoblù.
