I Samnite Bersaglieri gain access to the 2024/25 elite championship. This is the response of the finals played on Saturday 29 June in Calvisano (Bs), the epilogue of the top national touch competition. Twenty teams at the starting line, divided into six mini-groups. The Bersaglieri did not start well, narrowly defeated by the very young Thiene touch team, the revelation team of the year, before immediately redeeming themselves with Ternana touch. In the second phase, exciting victories with Frascati touch and L’Aquila both at the drop off, before capitulating with Venezia and Modena in the final that was worth ninth place.
“We expected something more from these finals, given the regular season placing which saw us in fourth place – he has declared Mr. Fabio Santucci – As always, the pitch is the litmus test of our ambitions and the initial defeat against Thiene relegated us to the second half of the draw. However, tenth place qualifies us for the 2024/25 elite championship which brings together the best 12 teams in the Italian touch scene. In general, I consider the past season positive, with young new additions who made an important contribution to the growth of our team. We will try to face the next one in the best way”

The 2023/24 season of the Bersaglieri Sanniti ends with the finals to resume after the summer break. However From 15th to 21st July there will be the World Cup in Nottingham, Englandin which some athletes of the Bersaglieri Sanniti will participate. Italy will be present with three teams, in a competition that will see about 5000 athletes participating for 40 nations represented.
