A forty-year-old man was arrested by the police in Pisa for attempted murder: at the height of an argument after a road accident, he hit a motorist in the abdomen with a switchblade. The police officers intervened in via Montanelli following the report of an injured person. The policemen rescued the victim, who fell to the ground and was urgently transported by ambulance to the Cisanello hospital where she underwent surgery.
Subsequently the flying squad reconstructed the story. the thirty-six year old victim, while passing by in his car in the company of a friend, had had a collision with a person traveling by bike. The accident culminated in a violent argument on the side of the road. At that point, his cousin intervened to help the cyclist and suddenly struck the motorist with a switchblade who, only thanks to his quick reflexes, managed to prevent the blade from penetrating deeply and lacerating the internal organs.
Having reached the attacker at home, the officers found the two still covered in blood who, after initial hesitations, confessed and indicated where the knife had been hidden.
The attacker was arrested for attempted murder and transferred to Don Bosco prison.
