Exhibition of finds from the Delizia Estense in Belfiore

At the Archaeological Museum of Ferrara in via XX Settembre 122 on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June, on the occasion of Gea, a small but significant exhibition will be opened, housed in the eighteenth-century Sala degli Stucchi entitled “Che Delizia Belfiore! A participatory archeology project for Ferrara: work in progress”.

The exhibition displays the results of the archaeological excavation currently underway in Ferrara thanks to a three-year project of participatory and public archaeology, conceived and directed by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Bologna, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Ferrara and created by the Archaeological Group Ferrarese, with the contribution of the students of the A. Roiti Scientific High School and the L. Ariosto Classical High School of Ferrara, with the support of the Province of Ferrara, the Ferrara Reclamation Consortium and financed by the Municipality of Ferrara.

The project aims, in addition to rediscovering the history of the ancient Palazzo Belfiore built by Alberto d’Este around 1388 and which fell into ruin in the following centuries, to involve students and citizens on the importance of knowledge and conservation of their cultural heritage and finally enhance a green area with great potential and return it to the citizens.

On Saturday 15 June in the afternoon, at 3.30pm and 4.30pm, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition curated by Dr. Flavia Amato and interesting insights into the ancient production techniques of Ferrara ceramics.

All at the symbolic cost of 1 euro which also includes a visit to the Renaissance garden and its labyrinth.

For 18 years Estense.com offers independent information to its readers and has never accepted public funds so as not to weigh even a cent on the shoulders of the community. The work we do has a significant economic cost and private advertising is not always sufficient.
For this reason we ask those who read us every day and, we hope, appreciate us to give us a small contribution based on their possibilities. Even a small amount of support, multiplied by the tens of thousands of Ferrarese who read us every day, can become fundamental.
