BOLOGNA – The second edition of the Bologna Portici Festival confirmed the success of the format, widespread, plural and participatory, site-specific, welcomed with enthusiasm since its launch in 2023. The news is given by the Municipality which takes stock of the event desired by Palazzo d’Accursio to celebrate the recognition of the porticoes as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a program of over 60 events including concerts, shows, dance and theater performances, meetings with authors, guided and itinerant tours, workshops for adults and children and the great festival of lights of the Portico di San Luca created by Cesare Cremonini. The event, which took place from 4 to 9 June, closed with a participation of well over 150 thousand visitors during the six days. Full squares every evening for all the shows: the great embrace of Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, city of music, the classic preview evening of the Respighi Festival with Laura Marzadori who closed the Festival; the magic of the lights of the Portico di San Luca crossed by thousands of people walking, to name just a few. Sold out for all events by reservation. “Bologna Portici Festival was an extraordinary cultural celebration for the city, which accepted the invitation to celebrate Bologna and its uniqueness – commented the delegate for Culture Elena Di Gioia -. We thank again the artists and the protagonists. The Luci a San Luca installation was a great success not only with the public, but also for the great involvement it was able to generate. The Mayor has already spoken about it with Cesare Cremonini, this will be the last edition along the portico. We will immediately start working together to extend this project to other places in the city and for a new edition of the Bologna Portici Festival that maintains the standard high and also becomes an attraction for a national and international audience”.
