City of Cremona Competition, Krylov: “let’s give a future to talents”

The violinist Sergei Krylov he spoke in Cremona1, accompanied by the maestro Roberto Codazziguest of Eleonora Busi and Giovanni Rossi in Every day with us. It was an opportunity to take stock of the first edition of the “Città di Cremona” in which he was president of the jury.

“Being a juror is always a great responsibility – comments Krylov – I would have given first prize to all participants in the competition; it’s always heavy distribute these prizes to kids who study ten, eleven hours a day according to artistic evaluations. The competition was great, as I said, with some fantastic talent in attendance. The jury was excellent from my point of view view and I think we chose the best. It was an important occasion because I think, at the level of the award, it is perhaps the highest in Europe and therefore also an opportunity to the winner of the competition to also be able to have one economic freedom”.

The president of the jury also tells a background story of Yuki Serino “He told me, now I can buy a nice bow because the one I have is really cheap. These are important things because a beautiful bow or a beautiful violin changes sometimes even radically the path of a violinist and offer many possibilities on a technical level”.

And then addressing all the participants: “I wish everyone to continue to love classical music and the violin and I thank you for the opportunity that was offered to me as president of this competition”.

“We have said goodbye to 2026 – he underlines Roberto Codazzi – but to this “City of Cremona” aims to be a living event, nin the sense that it definitely will be a further springboard launch for these young people and this is why it was created by our honorary president Giovanni Arvedi, but it will be even more so because there will be an autumn screening, because among the special prizes it is expected that the winner will be Yuki Serinoand the most talented young man, Shaoheng Zhongthe fifteen year old Chinese boy who placed second, will perform as part of the next edition of Stradivari Festival“.
