«Francesco Proto on the sidelines despite the disqualification»

Below is the press release from the Bisceglie Calcio club regarding the events of the match on Sunday 9 June:

In viewing some photo galleries relating to the match between Bisceglie and Costa d’Amalfi, the first leg final of the Eccellenza national playoffs, the Bisceglie Calcio club notes that the footballer of the Campania team Francesco Proto, despite the one-match disqualification sanctioned by the sports judge, before and after the aforementioned match stopped on the pitch and in the area in front of the changing rooms in contravention of the regulations. However, no measures were taken against the Amalfi Coast and the player himself. At the same time, it should be remembered that a very similar episode happened to Nerazzurri striker Anthony Pignataro in the promotion play-off between Ugento and Bisceglie on 5 May. On that occasion, Pignataro, despite being disqualified, was identified on the pitch by the CdC: for this reason his disqualification was extended by a further match.

The star-studded Nerazzurri club hopes that the competent disciplinary bodies can take note of what happened and take the necessary decisions in this regard, in view of the return of the final of the national playoffs which will be played on Sunday 16 June in Campania.
