Bitonto wins the single final at Palaflorio against TikiTaka Francavilla and enters history. No one before the Apulians had managed to win two championships in a row.
The queens of five-a-side football are from Puglia and are, for the second consecutive year, the girls of Bitonto. In a packed PalaFlorio, in the first dry final in history, the Apulian team triumphed 3-2, beating once again, exactly like last year, TikiTaka in the final. A feat that puts Bitonto in history, given that no women’s 5-a-side team has ever managed to obtain two tricolors for two years in a row. In the first half Mansueto broke the deadlock in the fourth minute with a right-footed shot under the crossbar, with the Apulian girls dominating the game, also taking 3 woodwork. Gayardo’s team changes pace in the second half: 37 seconds are enough for Bertè for the perfect right-footed shot which is worth the draw followed by the overtaking of TiKiTaka with Vanin with a great left footed shot following a corner taken by Cortès. Just when Bitonto seemed to be on the verge of collapsing, Bitonto’s scudetto comeback arrives, signed by Lucilèia and Tampa. In the final, Bitonto closes and celebrates a match that earned them a championship, but also a place in history with the Apulians who will play again next year.
