Milan – New weather alert in Milan e Lombardy. After water bomb which hit the capital last night is on its way yet another bout of bad weather. The sunshine that accompanied the first part of today is therefore destined to leave room for new precipitations, even intense ones. The alert it will start from 6pm today to 6am tomorrow morning. But what do the weather forecasts say? Let’s start with what should happen in the next few hours. During today, Monday 10 Junea weakly unstable flow will be present in the region which will intensify the diurnal cycle thanks to the infiltration of cooler air at altitude from the evening: probable showers or local thunderstorms on the reliefs in the central hours, extending to the high plain in the evening and moving from West to East during the following night. A greater probability of isolated, but locally intense thunderstorms is indicated on the border area between the plains and the mountains in the evening.

No respite until Wednesday
In the early hours of tomorrow, Tuesday 11 Junethey will persist unstable conditions with showers and scattered thunderstorms possible in all areas, more probable in the lowland sectors. From central hours the surveys will mainly concern. From late afternoon and evening more intense phenomena are possible on the plains and Pre-Alps, initially on the western sectors and moving in the evening and during the night hours of Wednesday to the more eastern sectors.

The Functional Center for Monitoring Natural Risks of the Lombardy Region has issued a yellow (ordinary) alert for risk of thunderstorms, starting from 6pm today, Monday 10 June, and until 6am tomorrow morning. The Municipal Operations Center (COC) of the Civil Protection is active to coordinate any interventions. During the weather warning Citizens are invited not to stop in the areas at risk of flooding of the two rivers and near the underpasses. Furthermore, we invite you not to stop under trees and near construction site scaffolding, outdoor areas and tents. It is important to ensure the safety of objects and vases on balconies and all artefacts that can be moved by the weather.
