Waste emergency in the Railway district of Foggia, zero sanctions: “Removing the bins in via Trieste has made the situation worse”

Noand in recent days, to deal with the waste emergency in the Ferrovia district, it was decided to eliminate the bins present between via Trieste and via Monfalcone. This choice was the consequence of avalanches of requests from residents, fed up of having to live in rubbish: just think of the waste strewn on the pavements to the point of blocking pedestrian passage, the remains of animal butchers, the nauseating smells amplified by summer temperatures.

“It was immediately understood that the simple removal of the bins would not be an intelligent move, much less useful, if not accompanied by the criminal sanctions provided for by the law regarding the abandonment of waste (law 137/2023) – comment the residents -. In fact, to date – also thanks to the lack of controls and the failure to use video surveillance – no one has ever been sanctioned for incorrectly disposing of rubbish: We Defend the Railway District of Foggia considers this unacceptable for a city that considers itself civilized”.

“The problem has simply moved to another block – they conclude –: uncivilized people travel twenty meters further and pollute another area. In practice the waste emergency has moved from via Trieste to via Montegrappa”.
