Savona – The Provincial Tourism Board “Ligurian Riviera” and Tpl Linea di Savona have reached an agreement: the Tourist Card is back again this summer expressly dedicated to tourists to be able to explore the coast and the hinterland. In the name of sustainable mobility, until October 31st, thanks to the agreement signed in recent days, tourists on holiday in the municipalities participating in the initiative will be able to move freely using the TPL Linea buses.

The mobility card will be free and valid all day (for a maximum of seven days), allowing tourists who spend long stays on the Riviera to move to the various locations in the Savonese area. But be careful: the old “Tourist cards” have therefore been retired and can no longer be used. The distribution of the new Tourist Cards has just begun in recent days at the IAT offices where accommodation businesses can go to obtain them for distribution to tourists. A fundamental step also to avoid sanctions from TPL.

The operation of the special free travel card to be requested from the host accommodation facility is simple. The Tourist Card is nominative but can be used as a “Family Card”. It can be used for seven consecutive days (not extendable) on all TPL lines in the province of Savona. Going into the details of how it works, to use the special card it is necessary to fill it in with the name and surname of the owner, stamp it by the accommodation facility where you are staying with name and location.

Another fundamental step: The Tourist Card must be activated with a text message shortly before getting on the bus. The message must be sent to the mobile number printed on the card and must contain the alphanumeric part of the serial code on the back of the card. Alternatively you can scan the QR code generating an SMS message with the requested data. Families will be able to take advantage of the free buses using a single card: on the card it is necessary to write the name of the parent representing the other members of the family up to a maximum of 4 in total, children under 10 years old do not pay, therefore they will not need the Tourist Card for free travel. Furthermore, the activation message must be sent by the person who appears to be written on the card. If a family member were to travel alone, you will have to send the message with the alphanumeric code on the card.

To be in compliance with the travel document, you will need to receive the TPL confirmation message confirming the activation of the Tourist Card. Furthermore, you will need to have with you: the paper Tourist Card from which the service was activated; the activation message received on your mobile phone and a valid identification document. To resolve doubts or issues related to the card Tpl has activated a dedicated call center: 019 23 03 77.
