Salerno

In the province of Salerno, with the polls still open, 10 mayors have already been elected. It happened in those municipalities where only one candidate was running. The first to celebrate was Elio Guadagno, the outgoing mayor who reconfirmed himself at the helm of Ottati. In the Cilento municipality the quorum of 40% was already exceeded on Saturday evening. In the morning, however, Geppino Parente in Bellosguardo, Raffaele Mondelli in Omignano, Attilio Romano in Casalbuono and Simone Valiante in Cuccaro Vetere were certain of election.

The turnout data recorded at 7pm finally decreed the election as mayor of Gianpiero Nuzzo in Caselle in Pittari, Maria Teresa Scarpa in Gioi, Modesto La Mattina in Caggiano, Enrico Zambrotti in San Pietro al Tanagro and Massimo Farro in Torchiara .

In the other 37 Salerno municipalities involved in the administrative elections, however, we will have to wait for tomorrow afternoon’s counting to find out all the verdicts of the ballot box. The spotlight is focused above all on cities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants where there is a clear decline in turnout even for administrative offices. In Sarno, at 7pm, 55% had voted; in Baronissi 58% in Capaccio and Nocera Superiore 59%.
