A week in Lombardy, between Ponte Lambro and Bosisio Parini. These are the places where Blessed Luigi Monza worked, founder of “La Nostra Famiglia” and of the secular Institute of the Little Apostles of Charity, which in Friuli have two offices in Pasian di Prato and San Vito al Tagliamento. Borrowing an expression of his, it is titled «Are you good gardeners?» the pilgrimage that the diocesan youth ministry proposes from 29 July to 3 August 2024 to adolescents and young people from the first year of high school up to 30 years of age.

The proposal is part of the traditional line of experiences summer courses of spirituality and animation proposed over the years by the Youth Ministry, for the benefit of adolescents and young people from all the parishes and youth groups in the area. The 2024 pilgrimage will serve to learn about the figure of Blessed Luigi Monza, his spirituality and his works, as well as the main fruits of his charisma. It is precisely charity at the service of children with disabilities that will be at the center of the diocesan pilgrimage, which – as the diocesan “piggì” reports – a few dozen adolescents and young people have already joined.

The Blessed Luigi Monza

On Monday 29 July the buses will leave Udine for Como, whose seminar will be the “base point” of the experience. In the following days, visits are planned to some places linked to Blessed Luigi Monza, starting from Cislago and Saronno (the Parish and the local oratory will also be visited). There will be the opportunity to serve with the children of La Nostra Famiglia, in the three locations of Bosisio Parini, Vedano Olona and Ponte Lambro. This last location will be the fulcrum of an activity of prayer and knowledge of the Blessed. We will visit the city of Lecco and an excursion to the mountains is also planned.

Registrations are open until June 30th. For further information you can consult the website of the diocesan Youth Ministry Office.
