The Xfinity race at Sonoma was filled with multiple crashes. The Kaulig Racing team achieved back-to-back victories in the Xfinity Series race at Sonoma Road Course, overcoming intense moments. As the New Zealand driver was cruising to victory in the closing stages of the race, chaos erupted behind him, resulting in many cars being withdrawn from the race.

During a restart with only 30 laps remaining, a driver was spun coming out of the corner, causing a mass crash involving most of the cars outside the top nine positions. As the lead group approached the finish line, the curve turned into a parking lot, with cars coming to a halt hitting the backs of their competitors.

According to the official list, the accident involved several pilots. Of the 12 cars involved, four drivers did not complete the race, including Gibbs and Williams, who had shown impressive speed throughout the day.

For Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chandler Smith, it was another disappointing day in the No. 81. Despite a good start to the season with two race wins and no results worse than eighth place in the first seven races, his performances dropped in the final seven races, with only two top ten positions. This raised doubts about his chances of winning the championship.

After the race in Sonoma, it wasn’t surprising to see the drivers criticizing each other and engaging in heated arguments. Two pilots involved in the major accident, and , were seen arguing with each other. Their dispute arose from a head accident that ruined both of their races. Despite the frustration, it is understandable that Sieg was disappointed, given that the incident cost him a possible top ten result.

The accident-filled race left a bad taste in fans’ mouths. However, there were also exciting racing moments and the victory of fan favorite SVG helped ease some of the negative feelings.
