Djidji will not renew with Torino. This is the reality of the facts, with the club no longer intending to bet on him and the player wanting to follow other paths, perhaps a return to France. This decision, on the part of both parties, is mainly influenced by the Djidji’s precarious physical condition which gives no guarantees. In fact, in the season that ended the defender played just 13 games, eight as a starter, with 759 minutes on his score sheet. No goals or assists, but a good contribution in the defensive phase with 64% of successful tackles and 53% of duels won. Above all, however, Djidji has always shown dedication to the Granata cause, attachment to the shirt and the team group. Always very calm and friendly, with his farewell we certainly lose an important locker room man.
The arrival at Torino and the non-renewal

Arrived in 2018 from Nantes, the team with which he trained, Djidji immediately integrated into Mazzarri’s defense rotations. At the end of the season, given his good performances, he was bought out for 3.5 million euros. In 2020 Djidji was loaned to Crotone to find continuity and then return to the Granata. Since then it has always been used by Juric, but also before by Nicola, finding his own pfirst and only goal against Milan in 2022, match won by Torino 2-1. Then many muscle injuries penalized him, even though he was nIn 2023 his contract was extended by one year. Maybe that was the error of judgment, with hindsight it was better to leave earlier. In fact, as mentioned, in the last season Djidji played very little due to a hernia and other small injuries.
