Maxi theft in the Bulgari jewelry store in via Condotti in the heart of Rome. The alarm went off around midnight. The thieves entered the jewelry store through a hole in the floor which led them to a utility room. The loot is around 500 thousand euros.
Once inside, the thieves smashed the windows and stole the jewels, triggering the alarm system. The scientific police intervened and carried out extensive surveys, also inspecting the hole in the floor that connected the shop to the basement of a building.

Investigators hypothesize that there were at least three thieves. To get to the shop, the hole gang may have also exploited the sewer system. For this reason the tunnels are also being inspected. The expert thieves entered the shop with their faces covered and wearing gloves and broke some internal displays and stole the jewels. The video surveillance images of the jewelry store and those from a wide range are being examined by the police. The Flying Squad investigates.
