The first three-year course of biomedical curvature at the classical high school concluded – il Gazzettino di Gela

Delivery of certificates to high school students who for the first three years ago participated in the national experimentation of biomedical Curvature at the Liceo Classico “Eschilo”, an initiative conducted in collaboration with the Medical Association of Caltanissetta which aims, through a three-year program led in part by doctors and partly by school science teachers, to bring young people closer to the world of medicine, to provide them with useful knowledge for preparing for the entrance test to medicine and health professions.

A path that proved useful for students to self-evaluate their aptitudes towards the healthcare world. Coordinating the activities of the biomedical Curvature in Gela is Dr. Giampaolo Alario, councilor of the Medical Association of Caltanissetta, who in recent years has to involve fellow specialists in the various branches of medicine to hold lessons for high school students. The other Gela councilor, Dr., also collaborated. Rosario Caci. The Aeschylus team is made up of the coordinator prof. Clelia Chianese and the professors. Claudia Cincotti and Tina Calì.

Yesterday the certificates of attendance were delivered to the twenty-eight students who successfully completed the biomedical curvature course. Most of them have already taken the entrance test for medicine. Present were the head teacher Maurizio Tedesco, Dr. Giampaolo Alario for the Medical Association of Caltanissetta and prof. Tina Calì.

“We strongly wanted this experiment in Gela – said Dr. Alario to the students – to give our young people an opportunity to concretely approach the medical world and make them understand that as doctors they will not only have to treat the sick but also take care of them. He also hoped that young people from Gelato could return after their studies to be doctors in their city which needs quality healthcare.”
