BETTONA (Perugia) – The eighteenth-century Villa del Boccaglione will host, from 14 to 16 June, the series of events ‘I’ll tell you about Bettona’, a showcase dedicated to the role of agriculture, the territory and biodiversity. The event is an integral part of the “Flavors & Knowledge of Excellence” project created to support the food and wine products of the local area and enhance the sustainability of the local agri-food supply chains.

Thanks to the collaboration of the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Umbria, the event will be an opportunity to open the doors of the suggestive residence to the public with three days of workshops, guided tours, musical and theatrical shows, animation and entertainment for the families and free tastings of the “Bettona Produce Eccellenze” brand.
We start on Friday 14 June at 10am with the conference dedicated to the topics of olive growing, the protection of the rural landscape and the territory. The event, organized in collaboration with the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development, will see the participation of teachers from the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences of the University of Perugia. In the afternoon, starting from 5.30pm, a guided tour of Villa del Boccaglione will be held by MalaUmbra Teatro and the art historian Gioia Orsini Federici to discover, through the theatre, the stories, myths and legends of this historic residence. At 6.30pm a free tasting of local products is scheduled.

Saturday 15 June will open with the exhibition stands of the producers of the Italian Farmers Confederation (CIA). At 10am, work begins for the second day of the conference focused on the themes of biodiversity. In the afternoon there will be tastings of food and wine products and guided tours. The evening will end with a concert by pianist Edoardo Riganti Fulginei at 9.00 pm.
Sunday 16 June, from 10am, appointment with the exhibition of historical agricultural tools curated by Coldiretti, educational activities for children to learn to recognize native fauna and flora and a picnic on the grass with local products. The meeting is scheduled at 11am to illustrate the restoration project of the gardens of Villa del Boccaglione and at 5.30pm, organized by Coldiretti Umbria, the meeting “Farmers, Development Actors – The priorities of the Umbrian agri-food sector”. At 7pm appointment with jazz music and the Lisa Primavera quartet concert, at 8pm, aperitif closing the event.
