“In fact, in Lombardy there are 7.3 fatal accidents for every million employed, while the Italian average is 8.7. Unfortunately, this positive data is not found in all the provinces of the region: Brescia, Sondrio, Pavia and Mantua present a risk of fatal accidents much higher than the national average, reaching, in the case of Brescia, 18.2 fatal accidents per million people. occupied.”

The yellow zone, the one in which Lombardy is located, is the zone which, immediately after the white, groups together the regions with the incidence of mortality at work among the lowest at a national level. And at the end of April 2024, the risk of fatal injury in Lombardy (7.3 deaths per million employed) appears to be lower than the national average of 8.7.

As regards the incidences, in detail, in the region it turns out that they are Brescia, Sondrio, Pavia and Mantua find themselves in the “red zone” with an incidence of 18.2, 13.4, 12.7 and 11.0, respectively. They are followed in the orange zone by Monza and Brianza (9.9) and in the white zone by most of the Lombardy provinces with mortality risks well below the regional and national average, starting with Cremona (6.5), Varese ( 5.1), Milan (4.6), Bergamo (4.1) and Como (3.8).

Deaths: 2 in Lodi

There were 52 deaths from January to April 2024 (compared to 49 in 2023): 33 those detected at work (9 less than last year) and 19 those while commuting (12 more than 2023). And it is always sadly first in Italy both for the number of total victims and for deaths at work.

The highest number of total deaths occurred in the province of Brescia (13). Followed by: Milan with 12 deaths, Bergamo and Pavia (5), Varese and Monza Brianza (4), Mantua (3), Cremona and Lodi (2), Como and Sondrio (1). Lecco recorded no victims.

And Brescia is also at the top of the ranking when fatal accidents at work are analysed, with 10 victims. They are followed by: Milan (7), Monza and Brianza (4), Pavia (3), Bergamo, Mantua and Varese (2), Como, Cremona and Sondrio (1). There were no casualties at work in the provinces of Lecco and Lodi.

Finally, there are 37,796 overall accident reports out of a total, in Italy, of 193,979. That is to say 19.5% of those detected in Italy. At the end of April 2024, total injury reports grew by 4.4% compared to the end of April 2023: they were 36,200 and are now 37,796.

The province of Milan is the one with the highest number of total accident reports (12,671), followed by: Brescia (5,309), Bergamo (4,448), Varese (3,400), Monza Brianza (2,606), Como (1,777), Mantua ( 1,669), Pavia (1,639), Cremona (1,558), Lecco (1,211), Praise (773) and Sondrio (735).
