One year after the collaboration agreement between the Municipality with Auser and the parents of some children who frequent the Baden Powell gardens to reclaim the space, the succulent plant greenhouse was inaugurated.
In fact, the reappropriation of the garden space was missing the part of caring for the succulent plants in the greenhouse, a horticultural heritage of hundreds of plants to be safeguarded. This part of the project was developed with a council resolution last January and is based on the work of some people with disabilities, for whom Isforcoop has created a gardening training course, with the collaboration of an agronomist. Auser, with the Municipality, will think up projects to make the greenhouse usable as with educational or organized visits while the people of Isforcoop will take care of the plants.
At the reopening inauguration of the greenhouse, yesterday 7 June, the mayor Marco Russo, the councilor Gabriella Branca and Nicoletta Negro, Chiara Ferrando, Anna Giacobbe from Auser, Ricotta from Slow Food, Isforcoop teachers, about thirty Isforcoop kids who worked in the gardens and greenhouse.
“An experience of common good and collaboration – said councilor Branca – which led the neighborhood and the city to be able to relive and rediscover a precious place. A heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed to achieving this result.”
