Mayor of Montecastello comments:
“The Cheta Mai project, in collaboration with the Libera Mente Cultural Association, has reached its third edition. Born in 2022 with the main aim of promoting the cultural heritage of our territory and in particular the reality of Montecastello, in the third edition given the success achieved, it will include four more meetings with as many authors. The title Cheta Mai itself contains the spirit of the event: Quieto Mai was the name with which the historic ferry was called which, until the beginning of the seventies, crossed the Tanaro river, connecting the village of Montecastello with the external reality, without ever stopping. Legends, encounters, friendships and loves were born on that stretch. With the same spirit of the past we want to stimulate the participants in the event, experiencing emotions through reading, art and the discovery of unknown corners that push us to never stay still… never quiet… Cheta Mai… . Furthermore, starting from 30 June it will be possible to visit the permanent exhibition of vintage images of the Montecastello ferry entitled “Chieta mai 1335-1970 – from history to legend”.

Fabrizio PRIANO
President of the Cultural Association Libera Mente-Laboratorio di idee comments: “The Cheta Mai cultural event is in its third year of planning and sees collaboration between our association and the Municipality of Montecastello. This edition will be made up of four events which will take place between June and September. The four events will feature well-rounded artists with experience in both acting, writing and other artistic forms. The first appointment is dedicated to Daniele LINCE, Writer, Director and Screenwriter who will present his book entitled “It’s just changed everything to start again”. A first work that collects several stories that will certainly be of interest to the audience present, although as always, when books or stories are presented they will be talked about but without revealing too much, to leave the pleasure of reading.”

Daniele LINCE, born in 1984, is a director and screenwriter. He lives in Turin and says he is convinced that stories can change the world: his mission is to find the best way to tell them. His cinematographic works have been selected by various festivals including Visioni Italiane and Giffoni Film Festival. Among his best-known titles are Verdiana, Fulmini e saette (selected as a finalist for the 2020 Nastri d’Argento) and Monster Sitter. In 2018 he shot Get Big, a documentary film on the sport Ultimate Frisbee. In 2021 he wrote and directed Post Scriptum – An optimistic look from the end of the world, a four-episode docufiction series with Barbascura X. Some of his stories have been published by the literary magazines Grado Zero and Rivista Blam.

“EVERYTHING JUST CHANGED TO START AGAIN” is his first book. An exterminator of bullies, a ventriloquist in a complicated relationship with his puppet, a man who steals a talking plant, the journey of a pair of women’s slim fit jeans, a boy jealous to death of a little dog, a handful of presidents who razed the planet to the ground.
Eighteen stories that photograph protagonists in perhaps the most critical moment of their existence.
Eighteen stories that explore turning points and situations
at the limit of credibility and choices that can make change
direction to a life, or to the entire world.
