Operation Last, 130 policemen at Ex Reggiane: 38 people arrested

Reggio Emilia, 25 June 2024 – Maxi anti-drug blitz in Reggio Emilia: from the early hours of dawn, 130 policemen they are sifting through the abandoned area of Former Reggiane, the historic epicenter of the city’s drug dealing. I am 38 precautionary measures for drug trafficking, possession of weapons and aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

L’Operation Last – this is the name of the investigations that led to this morning’s raid – originated from the checks of the former Reggiane which, until the eviction which took place in September 2021, represented the largest drug dealing square in Reggio. I am four lines of investigation which turned the spotlight on the abandoned area, resulting in as many targeted operations (Exit, Rexit, Trexit and Piazzale Pulito).

Already two years ago, the police had arrested 22 people in the act of drug dealing, seizing further 11 kilos of narcoticespecially cocaine, 41 thousand euros in cash and four common firearms, two of which were clandestine. She had been too a pizzeria closed town where the drug dealing activity had been documented by investigators.
