He was driving around Piazza Garibaldi drunk, driving a recently stolen car which he couldn’t even have driven because he never obtained a driving licence.

These are the findings that emerged from the checks, which seem almost improbable, carried out the other night by the carabinieri of the northern radiomobile section of the Teramo company while they were in the central Piazza Garibaldi and after having noticed a small car traveling at an uncertain pace and slowing down to Seeing them, they stopped the driver. Once the vehicle was blocked, the next check was carried out. There was only one person on board, a thirty-year-old of foreign origin residing in the province of Teramo, who was immediately found to be without a driving license because he had never obtained one and who, moreover, showed the symptoms of someone who had made excessive use of alcohol, then, in fact, he tested positive for the blood alcohol test . From further investigation, however, they also saw the car which was not registered to the driver and after investigations it was established that it had been stolen a few hours earlier in the Valle San Giovanni area.
The car did not appear to have been stolen as the owner had not yet noticed the theft but had learned of it from the phone call from the Carabinieri operations center who had contacted him at that moment precisely to cross-reference the data. The vehicle was therefore returned to its rightful owner, while the foreign driver will have to answer for receiving stolen goods, driving while intoxicated and driving without a licence. A story that confirms how important the constant presence of law enforcement in the area is. In this particular case, a citizen had an asset returned to him, his car, before he even realized that it had been stolen from him.
