Meetings, readings and dialogues to pay homage to the Tour de France through the pages of books. On the occasion of the extraordinary departure of the Tour de France from Italy and, precisely, from Florence, as part of the ToRide initiatives of the City of Turin dedicated to this sport and the values ​​it represents, the International Book Fair awaits the passage of the race yellow on two wheels by organizing the literary review “Tour à Turin” curated by Federico Vergari, journalist and editorial consultant for the sports and comics sections of the Fair, and by Marco Pautasso, general secretary of the Book Fair and manager of the OFF Fair.

From Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 June at Palazzo Madama and at the Motovelodromo there will be eight meetings dedicated to cycling and its stories, which will see authors, journalists, experts and bike enthusiasts as protagonists, awaiting the arrival in Turin of the third stage of the Tour de France next Monday 1 July. Among these Fabio Genovesi, writer and chronicler of the Tour de France with the lectio entitled “Everybody first on the finish line of my heart” (27 June); Eurosport commentators Luca Gregorio, journalist, and Riccardo Magrini, former professional cyclist, now commentator; Omar Di Felice, extreme ice cyclist and writer; the collective “Cicliste per caso” with the book dedicated to Alfonsina Strada, who participated in the men’s Giro d’Italia exactly one hundred years ago, on 29 June 1924, the journalists Gino Cervi, Andrea Schiavon and Herbie Sykes and the writer Gian Luca Favetto with the recent book “And the last time Pantani left”, to remember the Pirate. A special moment will be on Sunday 30 June at the closing of ‘Tour à Turin’, to remember Gianni Mura, one of the most appreciated and followed Italian journalists, who passed away in 2020, an attentive observer of cycling competitions, with readings taken from his journalistic articles collected in his book entitled “The red flame. Stories and streets of my tours”.

With the ‘Tour à Turin’ project, the Book Fair further consolidates its attention towards the field of sports narration and the collaboration with the City of Turin, to enrich the major sporting events that take place in the Piedmontese capital with debates and themed meetings .

‘Tour à Turin’ is part of the rich bouquet of initiatives that the Book Fair has created around the world of sport starting from 2021, such as the Gianni Mura sports fiction prize, aimed at contemporary fiction books that best describe sport , its values, its stories and its protagonists; the Sala Olimpica during the days of the Salone in May to present books, novels and essays on sport for adults and young people, the podcast Fuoriclasse, now in its third season, with 25 episodes dedicated to the sport of yesterday and today, the its epic, its unique and exemplary stories, its characters and shared values; the Fuoriclasse Live schedule, a series of talks on tennis, its protagonists and sport in general, organized on the occasion of the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals.

The first day of meetings will be next Thursday 27 June at 5pm at the Motovelodromo with the presentation of the book “Pantani era un Dio” by Marco Pastonesi, moderator Gian Luca Favetto. At 7pm, at Palazzo Madama Fabio Genovesi he will hold a lecture on the Tour de France entitled “All first on the finish line of my heart”.

On Friday 28 June at 5pm at the Motovelodromo the volume “Discovering Piedmont by bicycle” edited by the editions of Capricorno and FIAB Torino will be presented. At 7pm at Palazzo Madama presentation of the book “Vicini alleClouds. The great climbers of modern cycling” with Luca Gregorio and Riccardo Magrini.

Saturday 29 June at 11am at Palazzo Madama presentation of the book “Cicliste per caso. Italy by bike in the footsteps of Alfonsina Strada” moderated by Elisa Gallo and with Silvia Gottardi.

5pm Palazzo Madama “The world seen by an ultracyclist”, meeting with the extreme cyclist and writer Omar Di Felice.

Final day Sunday 30 June at 11 am at Palazzo Madama presentation of the volume “The Last Time Pantani Gone”, with Gino Cervi, Andrea Schiavon, Gian Luca Favetto, Herbie Sykes. Organized by the International Book Fair, at 5pm, at Palazzo Madama, an appointment with “Dentro i tour di Gianni Mura”, selected readings from the book “The red flame” (minimum fax 2021).
