SAN CIPRIANO D’AVERSA / CASAL DI PRINCIPE – Last night, a very serious act of violence hit the community of Casal di Principe. A hooded individual opened fire in Piazza Mercato, generating panic and concern among the population, a few hours before the polls opened for the renewal of the city council. As Mayor of San Cipriano d’Aversa, together with the entire administration and the community I represent, I intend to express the firmest and most decisive condemnation of this deplorable act, demonstrating my most sincere solidarity with the citizens of Casal di Principe. This episode represents an intolerable affront to the security and serenity of our territories. I want to be clear: our community will not allow acts of intimidation and violence that can undermine trust in the democratic institutions and legality that we strive to strengthen every day. I am fully confident that the police are already working to track down the perpetrators of this reckless act. But one thing is certain: in our territories there is no going back even a millimeter! To all the citizens of Casal di Principe, I appeal to calm and courage. At this crucial moment, it is essential that everyone exercises their right to vote with determination and civic sense, demonstrating that no act of violence can ever hinder our path towards a more just and democratic society. The unity and firmness with which we reject such intimidating actions are the best antidote against a return to a past of lawlessness and terror. Our response will always be decisive: no space will be given to those who try to undermine the legality and democracy that, day after day, we build with commitment and sacrifice.
