A former policeman and a guitarist who are now priests

Before embarking on the path of the priesthood, Michele di Stefano he was a policeman, while Giulio Vannucci, who worked as a teacher and educator, plays the guitar in a folk punk band well known in the area, I Quanti.

Today they were ordained priests by the bishop Giovanni Nerbini, during a mass in the cathedral of Prato, concelebrated by around 70 priests.

Michele Di Stefano, 39 years old, He is originally from Gela, Sicily. Before embarking on the path that led him to be ordained a priest, he was a cook, a waiter and then, from the age of 19, a military policeman. A choice that took him to Val di Susa where he met Don Mario Bonacchi. In 2009 he then began the seminary in Prato and undertook his theology studies in Florence. Tomorrow morning, at 11.30, he will celebrate his first mass in the parish of San Pietro a Mezzana.

Giulio Vannucci, 38 years old, he is originally from Pistoia. He has two degrees and in addition to having worked as a teacher and educator, he has cultivated his passion for music by playing the guitar. Eight years ago he joined the community of Rebuilders in the prayer of Prato. Then he took the path of the priesthood and today, at 7.30 pm, he will celebrate his first mass in the church of Villa del Palco.
