Carrarese-Vicenza, Calabro ahead of the final: “We want to close the circle”

The words of coach Antonio Calabro in view of Carrarese-Vicenza, the second leg of the Serie C playoffs scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Eve day for Carrarese who, tomorrow, will face the Vicenza in the second leg of the Serie C playoffs scheduled for tomorrow at 5.30pm at the “Stadio Dei Marmi” in Carrara. A pledge presented by Antonio Calabrocoach of the Tuscans, spoke at the press conference.

“It’s the last act and we want to close the circle. We start from a match in Vicenza played in a certain way in front of their public but now we will play in Carrara and we will be able to count on our people and our public who are very satisfied and focused on the goal. It’s the goal we’ve always believed in. I’m of the opinion that it’s important to play these types of matches but it’s even more fundamental to win, if possible. My task in a match like this is to choose the best team and above all we have to isolate ourselves from the outside we like the idea that there is enthusiasm everywhere in the city but it is up to us to only think about the match and the difficulties that may await us also because the motivations automatically kick in given the stakes.

You have to get to a final with serenity and tranquility and then pour everything onto the pitch from the first minute on Sunday. The general condition is good even if the physical resources are physiologically less and less but, in any case, the wide and deep squad allows me to draw on and find solutions and this represents the strength of Carrarese.

We haven’t changed our training habits even if we play at 5.30pm, how can I say that at the end of every training session we try penalty kicks even if my focus is only on winning the match and then we’ll see everything else.

All the boys are available, including Capello who came on for a few minutes in Vicenza and this allows me to underline that we played without a player who has always played and we never complained but, on the contrary, we found solutions to make up for the situation.

The idea of the formation is there and then we will see it on Sunday and I repeat we must be good at scoring a goal more than our opponents during regular time or in extra time or penalties and this is what counts.

Vicenza is a solid and compact team defensively but capable of quick counterattacks and above all ready to assume the most congenial tactical physiognomy and therefore our performance will have to be important but we are confident.”
