Early summer for Puglia with the first visit of the African anticyclone which is bringing good weather and high temperatures throughout Southern Italy, and in particular in Puglia. It is certainly the ideal first weekend to go to the beach and take the first swim of the season, but watch out for the mercury. The civil protection and the Ministry of Health have in fact issued a bulletin for monitoring the heat. For Puglia, in view of Sunday 9 June, there is a level 2 alert, and therefore orange: “for high temperatures and meteorological conditions that can have negative effects on the health of the population, and in particular in susceptible population subgroups”. For this reason, the local social and health services were alerted. According to the forecast, on Saturday 8 June it will reach a maximum of 32°C – which is why the level 1 alert was triggered today – while on Sunday 9 the mercury will reach at least 36°C, forecast that raised the alert level. Sunday day which will therefore be critical due to the heat. The recommendations always remain the same: take shelter during peak hours, reduce outdoor physical activity, drink water and of course cool off as much as possible with the first real swim of the season.
