Around 10.30, a citizen living in the Nesima neighborhood called 112 NUE asking for a Carabinieri patrol to be urgently sent because, shortly before, in a house near via Sebastiano Catania, following a dispute between two people, one of she had been hit with several stab wounds to the neck.
Therefore, the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri of the Catania Radiomobile Unit who, assisted by colleagues from the Operational Unit of the Fontanarossa Company and the Nesima Station, quickly reached the reported house, where they immediately understood the gravity of the fact, finding the door a terrified woman crying and an ambulance driving away.
In fact, the woman, a 45-year-old from Catania, ex-wife of the stabbed man, was still in a state of shock, but managed to tell the investigators that shortly before, for reasons of jealousy, a furious argument had started between her current boyfriend partner, a 41-year-old from Acireale, and her ex-husband, a 50-year-old from Catania. The clash between the two then degenerated when the man from Aceh, blinded by anger, grabbed a kitchen knife and started hitting his opponent several times who was forced to flee into the street to ask for help.
The wounded man, bleeding, was immediately helped by the 118 medical staff, who arrived on site in a very short time and took him to the emergency room of the San Marco hospital, but his life was not in danger.

The search for the man began immediately, initially at the home of his parents in Acireale where, however, he was not found and, after a short while, the Carabinieri ascertained that the 41-year-old, despite what had happened shortly before, had gone to carry out medical tests that have already been booked for some time.
Therefore, the soldiers of the Fontanarossa Unit, after having identified the medical office where he would have gone, prepared a preventive belt, to prevent any possible escape, and a remote observation service, which allowed the operators to identify him immediately. interior of the waiting room.
Immediately reached, with the necessary caution, he was taken out of the medical center, to avoid involving other patients, and was therefore blocked and made safe.
Lastly, the Carabinieri carried out searches at the home and the car used by the man from Ace, where they found some elements that confirmed the dynamics reconstructed by the Carabinieri investigators.
The man was arrested and made available to the AG who validated the measure by ordering that he be restricted to the prison in Piazza Lanza.
