The wild boar emergency is not over! The farmers of Campania shout it out loud, especially when they see their work ruined and their physical safety jeopardized by close encounters.
“We talk too little about wild boars. We don’t wait to see new images of devastated fields, decimated crops and dangerous car accidents, even fatal ones, to realize that the emergency is more relevant than ever. It’s time to loudly ask for a regional law that definitively sheds light on the subject” explains the director of Coldiretti Campania Salvatore Loffreda.
In Campania the presence of 58 thousand wild boars is estimated which, added to the data from the other regions, brings the figure to over two million heads. A real invasion that represents a risk for citizens as well as a tragedy from an economic point of view.
“It is time to ask for an end to inertia and the adoption of a containment plan in all regions of Italy. This is the only way to give a concrete answer to farmers and citizens. Coldiretti is ready to play her part and make her voice heard until what is due to farmers, breeders, citizens and consumers arrives” concludes Salvatore Loffreda.
