The Inner Wheel awards awards to two students – the Gazzettino di Gela

The mantle of Saint Martin was once again used to award recognition to two deserving students.

The Inner Wheel Club of Gela organized the San Martino celebration in November which, like every year, represents an important opportunity to raise funds aimed at supporting culture in our area.

This year the proceeds from the feast of San Martino were used to donate two important scholarships to particularly deserving students, chosen among the students of the secondary schools of our city. During these last days of school, the selection of the various applications presented and examined took place.

On May 31st the scholarship was awarded to Rosa Catalano, final year student of the “E. Vittorini Scientific and Linguistic High School” and on June 7th to Paolo Caci, final year student of the “Eschilo Classical High School”.

The President of Inner Wheel Eugenia Romano and a delegation of Club members, during a simple but very moving ceremony, had the pleasure of awarding the scholarship to these two extraordinary students from our city. Both distinguished themselves for their scholastic merits and their human qualities.

Their curriculum is full of projects and activities in which they have participated, throughout their school career, with brilliant results and their school averages are truly wonderful. With these scholarships, Inner Wheel wanted to contribute to the realization of these young people’s dreams and in particular to the possibility of undertaking a university career that meets their aspirations.

Emotion and joy, tears and smiles characterized both ceremonies which took place in the presence of school managers and teachers, proud and happy for their students.
