ROVIGO – On the afternoon of Sunday 2 June, in the context of the celebrations for the Republic Day, the vice president of the Order of Nursing Professions of Rovigo, Marco Emanuelewas awarded the honor of Knight of the Order “Al Merito della Repubblica Italiana”.
The award was presented to Marco Emanuele by the Prefect of Rovigo, Clemente Di Nuzzowith the mayor of Badia Polesine, Giovanni Rossiduring the ceremony which took place at the Teatro Sociale of the capital.
The reasons that led to the nomination as Knight of the Republic are the constant commitment made by Emanuele, nurse responsible for personal services at the Casa del Sorriso in Badia Polesine, during the emergency of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Explaining this emotion – says Emanuele – is not simple. The title of Knight is a recognition that I will always carry with me, but it is also an incentive to improve myself and to continue to believe that being a nurse was my path.”
Satisfaction and enthusiasm are also expressed by the president of the Opi of Rovigo, Denis Piombo: “This honor – underlines Piombo – is a pride for our profession, for all of us nurses, but also for our management, Marco being vice president.”
The honor obtained by Marco Emanuele testifies, once again, to the decisive and irreplaceable role of nurses in protecting the health of citizens, not only in the hospital setting but also in the various contexts of the territory.
