Rome, 7 June. (Adnkronos) – A new model of high-performance and sustainable microarchitecture. The tiny house Armònia 4 All (A4A), a microarchitecture project of just 15 m2, created by the spin-off, was inaugurated in recent days at the Department of Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. DoT5-Lab srl of the University. An open house for the presentation of this project conceived and built by the spin-off, winner of the Pre-Seed Plus tender financed with Por Fesr Lazio 2014-2020 funds.

The Armònia microarchitecture is a new prototype created according to the dry construction system, already patented internationally in 2019, called In-Diesis. In Armònia 4 All, a single module of only 15 m2, there is adequate space for the living/sleeping area, a kitchenette and a bathroom. A4A’s objective is to promote a new model of prefabricated microarchitecture on the tourist-accommodation market. It was built in April 2024 during a construction site-school hosted by the University of Rome Tor Vergata, in the external area of the Civil Engineering building. The school-site was managed in collaboration with the Cefme Ctp of Pomezia.

Antonella Falzetti, full professor of Architectural and Urban Composition and coordinator of the degree course in Building Engineering – Architecture, as well as chairwoman and senior architect of Dot5-Lab, explains the aspects of the project most linked to the university: “Armònia is the result of a five-year path of knowledge and application in synergy between scientific research, training, technology transfer and business. What constitutes the specificity of this operation is a common feeling of growth, for the academic community, for our spin-off and in particular for. our students; young minds who worked enthusiastically on the construction of the prototype; finding themselves in a choral occasion in which experimentation and technique met on common ground”.

The managing director of DoT5-Lab Giulia Pezzullo speaks about the characteristics of use of the microarchitecture project on the business side: “Armònia is the opportunity to innovate construction at the service of tourism, to have quality accommodation microarchitecture in different contexts, from the most rural to the most urbanized. We have a patented and unique construction system, which allows us to combine creativity and functionality. We at DoT5-Lab are able to design and customize, together with our customers, different models Armònia maintaining its innovative and sustainable character. Armònia is a ready and available solution on the market to integrate with breathtaking landscapes”.

The Armònia tiny house is included with systems, designed to make the architectural module self-sufficient for the duration of time limited to tourist-accommodation use; in fact, among the objectives of the DoT5-Lab team was the design of systems that do not require connections, so as to be able to propose the placement of micro-modules even in non-urbanized situations or in cases of temporary permit for tourist activity, given the easy assembly and disassembly. The plumbing system involves the use of loading and unloading water tanks for both the bathroom (shower and sink) and the kitchen (sink). To make the Armònia solution smarter it is not necessary to connect to the sewerage network. The electrical system is powered by an off-grid photovoltaic system sized to meet the needs of the entire tiny house. However, the plant systems can be adapted to the different needs of customers, meeting the desire to connect to municipal networks or integrate other types of systems.

Armònia 4All has received the CasaClima certification through the dedicated MobileHome certification protocol. The CasaClima MobileHome certification for prefabricated structures includes, in addition to the verification of the energy efficiency criteria linked to the casing, systems and electrical equipment installed, the evaluation of various other quality criteria. The tiny house is extremely high-performance from an energy point of view with high thermal insulation values and protection from summer heat. The air tightness, fundamental to guarantee efficiency and construction quality, was created with the support of the CasaClima Partner Naturaliabau and was subsequently verified with a specific test, the Blower Door Test. In the ecological field, the requirements relating to environmental impact of the materials used and the water impact. As part of the comfort requirements, the acoustic sound insulation performance was verified by calculation, while to guarantee the quality of the internal air, furnishing and internal finishing elements with low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) were used. In the management field, the requirements relating to the integration of separate waste collection systems and the monitoring of consumption and management costs were verified.
