LAURIA (PZ) – The “Lauria-Matera” caravan left this morning from the Pecorone district Bike Tours” – United for Fabio –, a moment of leisure for amateur cyclists who want to discover the beauties of our beloved Earth and pay homage to the free spirit, adventurer and great lover of Basilicata, Fabio Limongi.
The walk has a tourist purpose and is intended to be a message of gratitude towards those who have spent so much to make the beauties of Basilicata known in Italy and in the world, a bicycle journey through the iconic places of the Lucanian Land, partly retracing the path of the late Fabio Limongi on the occasion of “Matera 2019”.
About twenty participants have been undertaking this journey cycle since this morning which started from Piazza Giovanni XXIII in Pecorone di Lauria (PZ) at 9.30 am to reach Matera on 9 June, after three days of Lucanian Wonder.
The event can be followed via Facebook on the page Lauria-Matera Bike Tour” – United for Fabioe was born, explains one of the organizers, Antonio Di Giacomo, “to be able to share the route km after km, with anyone who wants to follow the group through Komoot LiveTracking. Every morning, upon departure, the link will be shared to be able to view the position of the group in real time.”
The initiative, with the patronage of Basilicata Region – APT Basilicata – Municipality of Matera and Municipality of Lauria it will take place over 3 days, departing from Lauria on June 7th and arriving in Matera on June 9th, with the travel itinerary, in short, as follows:
