Emotions guaranteed tomorrow at the Arechi stadium in Salerno, with the Gathering of Operation Nostalgia. Forty legends of Italian and international football will compete on Saturday evening in a friendly match dedicated to sport, friendship and fun, with 20 thousand spectators expected (a record figure after the 14 thousand who turned out for last year’s meeting in Ferrara) from all regions of Italy. The kick-off of the match, organized with the support of the entertainment portal Planetwin365.news, is set for 8pm. The friendly match will bring together players with a total of over 1,500 goals, 5,000 overall appearances in Serie A and 100 trophies on the pitch: Roberto stands out among the great protagonists of the evening Baggio who will return to a stadium to greet the fans exactly 20 years after his farewell to football and the two captains, Javier Zanetti (foreign record holder for appearances in the championship with Inter, with 613 appearances) and Francesco Tottiwho boasts 619 appearances in Serie A, all with his Roma.
The Salerno gathering will also host three strikers present in the ranking of the best scorers ever in Serie A: Roberto Baggio (seventh with 205 goals scored and 20 years after his farewell to football), Antonio From Christmas (sixth at 209) and Francesco Totti, second with 250 goals. Three of the attackers protagonists of the gathering also won the title of top scorer in the championship (Francesco TottiToto From ChristmasDavid Trezeguet) and six of them were world champions with three different national teams (Totti, Amelia, Barzagli, Aldair, Trezeguet And Candle). It doesn’t end here, because for the first time a representative of women’s football, the legendary Patrizia Panic – record appearances in the national team (204) and record goals in the national team (110) will take part in the event.
Game aside, the long day marked Operation Nostalgia it will begin in the morning in the Fan Village adjacent to the stadium: from 10.30 the Gathering partners will welcome visitors with activities and moments of aggregation to entertain the fans. At 6pm the stadium gates will open, at 7.35pm the teams are expected to enter the pitch to warm up before the 8pm kick-off with live TV on Sportitalia.
