Councilor De Sanctis: “Support for families who experience these fragilities every day”
The councilor for Social Policies Ilaria De Sanctis informs that the deadlines are open for the submission of applications for the provision of allowances in favor of people in conditions of very serious disability and vital dependency.
The provision of the allowance is subject to the availability of the family assistant to ensure the permanence of the person in a condition of vital dependency at home. This availability is achieved through direct assistance from the family unit itself or through the use of assistants.
For the purposes of admission to the benefit, applications will be evaluated by the UVM (Multidimensional Evaluation Unit) of the Health District. The ranking will be drawn up based on the evaluation of the clinical and health aspect which determines the care need relating to the compromise of the functional autonomy of the applicant and on the basis of the income condition defined by the socio-health ISEE.
The quantification of the monthly amounts of care allowances for very serious disabilities will take place in accordance with the “Application guidelines of the Regional Plan for Non-Self-sufficiency 2022-2024” of the Abruzzo Region. The amounts of the care allowances will be determined by the sum of the scores attributed following the evaluation of the parameters indicated in the Notice.
The Municipality of Teramo will pay to the subjects positioned according to the possible ranking, the amount of which will take into account the bioclinical, social, family and income elements that constitute the “care budget” forming part of the “individual care plan” drawn up following the evaluation of need according to criteria specified in the Notice.
The application, duly completed and complete with the required attachments, must be sent or delivered in the manner indicated in the Notice. The deadlines for submission are set at 1pm on 8 July 2024.

Councilor Ilaria De Sanctis underlines: “This is a measure to support families who daily experience the necessary and unavoidable condition of fragility, but it is also and above all a method put in place to prevent the person with disabilities from finding the inevitable fate the destination in structures which, although dedicated, can never replace the warmth and dimension that they experience and receive in their own home and with the closest people”.
