Claudia Gerini, Marco Giallini, Serena De Ferrari, Giacomo Ferrara, Anna Ammirati together with the performers of the short “Parachute”, Jenny De Nucci, Giacomo and Giovanni Nasta, Greta Ragusa, Lucia Balordi, Niccolò Senni they are the protagonists of ON AIR. SEASON O1. The project is organized and directed by Simona Gobbi and created in synergy with the Federico II Foundation and will be held from 13 to 15 June in Palermo with the aim of uniting the world of TV series and cinema with social issues and which will culminate with the delivery of the “Marlù Award for Social Work”. Three days to focus, together with the guests, on what cinema and TV series can be “spokesperson” for social change. Cinema and the audiovisual industry have always touched on issues of social relevance, from the world of work to gender inequality, to emancipation, up to youth hardship. The format of ON AIR. SEASON O1 in fact, it predicts Thematic TALKS with the protagonists of the audiovisual world who will talk about their experiences behind and in front of the camera and their constant commitment to combining entertainment with issues of social relevance.

SICILY IS THE PROTAGONIST

To pay homage to a land, Sicily, which has always been the ideal location for many films and TV series, ON AIR. SEASON O1 will celebrate ancient cultural and culinary traditions with chef Natale Giunta which will tell the memory of the territory, through its art. Giunta is one of the most well-known and renowned chefs of Italian cuisine thanks to his recipes that renew and reinterpret the great Sicilian culinary tradition.

Because Sicily has been – and still is – an excellent location for successful films, which have made the history of cinema and received enthusiastic approval from the public and critics. Great directors have shot their epic scenes in the cities, in the villages, among the historical and architectural monuments of the island. From Luchino Visconti with “The Leopard”, Giuseppe Tornatore, with his “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, “The Godfather” by Francis Ford Coppola, to the most recent “Indiana Jones 5” with Harrison Ford. Among the most popular series are “The White Lotus”, “Inspector Montalbano”, “The Lions of Sicily” and the new and unpublished production of a television series directed by Gabriele Muccino and filmed entirely on Sicilian territory.
