TERAMO – The municipal administration of Teramo, in collaboration with other bodies and institutions, has organized two events linked to as many anniversaries in national and local history: the 100 years since the Matteotti murder, in the first case, and the 80 years of the liberation of Teramo, in the other. Two distinct events, not directly linked to each other but united by the same root and which mark the beginning and end of the twenty years of fascism. The appointments are scheduled for June 10th and June 14th.
The June 10, at 5.30 pm Florestano Vancini’s film, “Il delitto Matteotti” will be screened in the cinema room of the Einstein Scientific High School; a debate led by Prof. Maddalena will follow Carliteacher of Contemporary History and the young people of the Grovigli Association.
June 14th, at 5.30 pm, at the Melchiorre Delfico Library in Teramo, a seminar entitled “Teramo Liberata (14 June 1944)” will take place, with the participation of the historians Profs. Enzo FimianiAndrew Saint JohnConstantine Of Sante. At the same time as this event there will be a temporary exhibition of documents relating to the liberation of Teramo, preserved at the Dèlfico Library.
These events are part of the project with which the Municipality of Teramo, eighty years after the Liberation, intends to give life to a complex path of reflection on characters, events and themes that were at the center of the struggle that led to democracy in our country. The project is divided into meetings, debates, conference screenings, with particular reference to our territory, and will develop over the next 2 years, until 2025.
After the first appointment last December 13th, on the figure of Ercole Vincenzo Orsini, the calendar presents these two new events, organized, as mentioned, by the Municipality of Teramo in collaboration with the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Teramo, the ANPI of Teramo, the M. Dèlfico Regional Library and the Grovigli Association.
