The signatures in support of the Petition, addressed to the attention of the Mayor, the Councilor for Public Works and the President of the City Council, demonstrate the attention and will of the city community and the Levante neighborhood towards the protection of all green spaces city historians. Following is the press note:
The signatory citizens, with the popular petition, ASK the Mayor
- the immediate suspension of the cutting of the pines of Via Don Minzoni and the trees of the Levante Park
- the immediate convening of the discussion table between Citizens and the Municipal Administration in accordance with the provisions of the art. 61 of the Municipal Statute, paragraphs 1 – 2, a table in which the councilors and councilors, associations, unions and parties adhering to the Committee are also present, as the theme of urban green spaces is of public interest;
- a moratorium on cutting city trees given the absence of an Urban Green Plan which also provides for their management and maintenance.
“These requests, to date without any response, were already officially sent last May 8th to the attention of the Mayor, Council and President of the City Council; furthermore, the same requests were the subject of a letter of support from 18 reality between Parties, Unions, Movements, Associations, Councilors and Councillor, acquired in the documents of the Municipality with protocol 41761 of 28 May 2024”.
“We therefore invite all citizens to participate and support our morning demonstrations at 7.30 in via Don Minzoni”.
