Crowd at the end of the electoral campaign of Giuseppe Mascia, candidate for mayor in the Sassari municipal elections scheduled for 8 and 9 June. It is Piazza d’Italia that hosts the last speech of the leader of Campo Largo, preceded on stage by the four regional councilors representing the territory: Desirè Manca, owner of Labour, Franco Cuccureddu, of Tourism, Antonio Piu of Public Works and Gianfranco Satta of ‘Agriculture.

«Let’s relaunch Sassari – this is the message from the representatives of the Todde governance – and let’s reverse the conflict with Cagliari». Mascia focused on the impression he had during this month’s meetings with the Turritan capital. «It’s a frayed city – he states – where everyone thinks of themselves. We must make it cohesive and united.” The discussion turns to what will happen if he is elected: «We will be a competent and combative council. Sassari must get what it deserves.” Environmental policies, relations with businesses and the third sector, an inclusive city and relations with the surrounding communities are some of the themes explored by the provincial secretary of the Democratic Party. Then culture: «We will reopen the city theater, closed for five years, and we will talk to the cultural operators, forced to leave».

And again the proposal to structure a single social fund and the promise of a great plan for public housing before the conclusion amidst applause: «We are the only alternative to prevent the right and the civic right from winning. Let’s try to win in the first round.”
